Flu Clinics and Vaccine

Flu vaccines protect yourself, your family, and your community from flu. Everybody ages 6 months and older can get the flu vaccine. Vaccination is particularly important for people who are at high risk of serious complications from the flu.

Vaccination Fees:
  • We do not have the ability to file with private insurance companies.
  • Children (6 Months through 18 Years): Flu vaccinations are free.
  • Adults (19 Years and older): There is a $35 fee for adults receiving the flu vaccine.
  • Seniors (65 Years and older):
    • High-dose formulation is a quadrivalent vaccine. There is a $65 fee for the high-dose flu vaccine.
    • Please decide which flu vaccine you wish to receive at the time of arrival.
    • Medicare Part B covers the cost of both flu vaccines.
    • We cannot bill Medicare Advantage Plans. Payment is required at the time of service.  You will be provided a receipt upon payment which you may use to file with your insurance for reimbursement.
    • Seniors must bring their current health insurance card(s) to the clinic. For any claims rejected by Medicare, the individual will receive a bill from the Wauwatosa Health Department for the vaccine.

Acceptable payments for adults and seniors are cash, credit cards, and personal checks. Checks can be made out to the City of Wauwatosa.

Other Clinics and Immunizations

Immunizations are offered by appointment. Since the Federal Government has made significant changes to the criteria for obtaining vaccinations through a health department, all immunizations are subject to vaccine availability, the Wisconsin State Immunization Program guidelines, and our medical orders. To determine your eligibility for vaccines or to schedule an appointment, please call (414) 479-8939.

The Health Department also offers in-home vaccinations for individuals who are homebound. To schedule an in-home vaccination, please call (414) 479-8939.
