Under Wisconsin law (Wis. Stat. § 175.47), any officer-involved death must be investigated by an independent agency.
When the Wauwatosa Police Department leads the Milwaukee Area Investigative Team (MAIT) on a case, we submit a complete report to the prosecutor. If the prosecutor declines to file charges, state law requires that the summary report be published here for public transparency.
