Wauwatosa residents may keep up to two beehives with an annual permit. Permits are valid through the end of each calendar year.
How to Apply
You can apply online using this self-service portal. You can upload any needed documents and process payments online. During the application process, you will be required to submit:
- Written approval from neighboring property owners may be required as part of your application.
- Provide a site plan showing the proposed location of the beehives in relation to property lines and nearby structures.
If you are not the property owner, you will also need the property owner’s permission.
Fees
The initial beekeeping permit fee is $50. Annual renewals are $20.
Permits expire on December 31 each year and are non-transferable and non-refundable.
